GRF™ 10 - Rudder Feedback SensorCompatible DevicesPair this sensor with the GHP 12™ to provide rudder position feedback and to detect and avoid rudder stops while sailing or boating. The GRF 10 uses a magnetic sensor to relay position information, eliminating friction that causes other types of sensors to wear out. The arm of the GRF 10 is connected to the rudder of the boat and relays position information through the sensor to the mariner so they know where the rudder is - giving them an added peace of mind when starting from a stopped position, docking, launching or moving at slow speeds.Additionally, the GRF 10, allows sailors to:
Know where the rudder is positioned without having to look back
Make smoother maneuvers and avoid over-compensating
Save undue wear and stress on their autopilot system by eliminating force on the rudder when it's already stopped left or right.

Autopilot Pump, 12 VDC, 1.7 Cubic Inches Per Second (For Ram Sizes of 14 Cubic Inches to 25 Cubic Inches in Volume)The PUMPHRP17-12 is a reversing pumpset designed to interface the NavPilot series autopilot with a hydraulic steering system. The pump assembly incorporates a reversible gerotor gear pump, a two-piece gear housed in an eccentric ring. This allows for incredibly quiet, reliable and precise operation. A hydraulic steering system consists of a hydraulic actuator and one or more steering wheel pumps, or helm pumps. As the steering wheel (helm pump) is turned in the port direction, hydraulic oil is pumped into the port hydraulic steering line. This oil is directed into the port side of the steering cylinder. As the cylinder moves to port, oil from the starboard side of the cylinder returns to the helm pump through the starboard hydraulic lines. One end of the cylinder is fixed and the other is connected to a tiller arm, which is connected to a rudder shaft. With this connection to the tiller arm the linear movement of the cylinder to port is changed to rotary movement, which turns the rudder and steers the vessel to port. Moving the steering wheel to starboard produces the same reaction with oil being pumped out of the starboard line and returning through the port line. If more than one helm pump is used, a return/fill line must be installed to connect the cases of all helm pumps together. The output flow rate of the pumpset determines the speed of the steering cylinder. The PUMPHRP17-12 outputs 1.6 cu. in. of oil per second and requires a 12VDC input. These two modes greatly reduce steering effort and enhance the safety of your autopilot. The POWER ASSIST mode incorporates the SAFE HELM concept and provides speed-based, power assisted steering, which greatly reduces manual helm effort in maneuvering situations. POWER ASSIST is a unique helm-activated assisted steering feature that can augment or replace separate electric and power-robbing, engine-driven power steering systems on many vessels. POWER ASSIST reduces steering system complexity and costs while increasing economy.SAFE HELM and POWER ASSIST modes will require the optional FPS8 Power Steering Module and an appropriate HRP Pumpset. If you are interested in utilizing the SAFE HELM and POWER ASSIST features, it is highly recommend that, when installing the NavPilot 700 Series Autopilot, the optional FPS8 Power Steering Module is purchased and installed at the same time. This will eliminate the need to re-plumb the hydraulic system and run additional connection cables in the future.FishHunter modeFishHunter mode is a unique feature of FURUNO's NavPilot series.
